The Artas Folklore Troupe performs in front of the Wall at Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem, during the closing session of the 2008 summer school of AEI-Open Windows. Showing Palestinian Arts in front of the Wall is a way of saying that the Palestinian cultural identity and community will not be affected by the division and fragmentation as a result of the Wall.
On the right side Abu Lotfi, the inspiring trainer-participant in the group.
During the summer school, there is always much interaction between youth from Bethlehem and the villages, like Artas.
See the website of the Artas Folklore Center elsewhere on this website (see under "Our Partners"), for more about the Artas Folklore Center, the Artas Folklore Troupe, and the annual Artas Lettuce Festival.
